A TEACHING CHURCH.  God's word is very important to Calvary Lutheran Preschool, and therefore we emphasize a Christian Education. Activities and learning experiences are woven with Christ-like values. Our goal is to help the children see Jesus as their Savior and friend by teaching Bible stories and providing activities for social interaction.

ACCREDITED.  In 2003, Calvary Lutheran Preschool became
accredited by the National Lutheran School Accreditation (NLSA). NLSA is a rigorous process by which a school measures itself against nationally recognized standards for preschools.  The standards cover all aspects of the program, staffing, instruction, curriculum, and facility. If standards have been met, accreditation is renewed for a period of 5 years. This is an ongoing work in progress with accountability to see that our students are receiving the best care, instruction, and the safest environment possible.

MEMBERSHIP.  Calvary Lutheran Preschool is a member of:

  • National Association for the Education of Young Children
  • Indiana Association for the Education of Young Children
  • Unlicensed Registered Ministry Reg #RM-100934-A
  • Paths for Quality Level 3

STAFF.  Our staff consists of a teacher and an aide with preschool training and experience and the pastor of the congregation who conducts chapel time. The preschool maintains an open door policy and hopes parents will feel free to come in and visit their
child's class.

THE LITTLE CHILDREN AND JESUS
People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth; anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.' And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them. Mark 10:13-16 (NIV)

CURRICULUM.  Our curriculum is a Gospel-centered Bible curriculum for Christian Preschools that directs students to God's grace through the cross of Jesus Christ. We focus on academics and beginning learning skills to prepare children for kindergarten.  Our curriculum also includes familv activities to help the family grow together as they read, study, and apply God's Word.

What schedule does Calvary Lutheran Preschool use?

Our program follows the North Lawrence Communitv School District's calendar including the same vacation days, snow days, and similar exceptions
